Road Map - Processes for starting an offshoring model

Every successful outsourcing partnerships have some factors that are applicable and can be used as a guideline in forging new relationships. All or some of the following methods can be used in the beginning of an engagement.

Contact EcommIT:

You can email or call us to initiate contact at the contact details given below. You can spell out in broad terms what you are looking for and we will get back to you with our assessment whether EcommIT can match your requirements. This step typically follows up with a Request for Information ( RFI ) to know more in detail of our capabilities. If the customer is looking at executing a specific project, you can request a proposal ( RFP). EcommIT would respond to that proposal which could contain approach to the solution, ball park cost estimates and a broad time line of execution. If you would prefer,we could also sign a Non Disclosure Agreement ( NDA ) with you at this stage so that information can be shared with confidence. We would be happy to provide you with a sample NDA if you would prefer.

Personal Visit:

This step is recommended if the proposed relationship is a Build Operate Transfer model or where the place of development is crucial to the success of the project. EcommIT's India development center is situated in the well connected city of Kochi in Southern India. EcommIT would be happy to assist you with making stay and travel reservations. Potential clients can come and see our facilities, interact with our developers and judge for themselves our capabilities to meet your requirements.

Pilot/Prototype Phase:

This is essentially a testing out phase where the capabilities are assessed in a very transparent way. The invariable communication hurdles need to be assessed and sorted out and is a good opportunity to know whether a long term working relationship is possible. This phase typically contains a small project which can be executed in a month or less needing at the most 2 to 3 resources. If the entire life cycle of a project in small doses can be tested out in this time line, so much the better.

Full Fledged Engagement:

At the end of the pilot phase, a very good understanding would have been made of each others working styles and if the outcome is positive, details of the full fledged engagement is worked out. It could start with the decision to hire a set number of people /or the estimation phase of a much larger project etc.
